Stillwater one of the best Minn. cities for young families

Stillwater was named one of the top 10 best cities in Minnesota for young families by Nerd Wallet.

Nerd Wallet is a website that offers financial advice on a wide range of topics, and it rated Minnesota cities by asking the following questions:

• Does the city have good public schools?

• Can you afford to live there?

• Is the city growing and prospering?

Stillwater ranked number five, behind Waconia, North Mankato, Sartell and Woodbury.

Nerd Wallet cited a 96 percent graduation rate at Stillwater Area High School.

5k color dash will benefit dog rescue

A 5k color dash at the Washington County Fairgrounds will raise money for the nonprofit PNC Midwest Rescue.

The run starts at 10 a.m. Registration is available the day of the run and costs $50 per person or $90 per family..

Through the years, PNC Midwest Rescue has been a vehicle for hundreds of successful adoptions of previously unwanted dogs into loving, lasting homes throughout the United States and abroad PNC Midwest Rescue dedicates 100 percent of all earnings to helping the dogs. No person within the organization is ever paid.
