ISD 834 annual report is now available

The Independent School District No. 834 2012-2013 Annual Report on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Achievement was approved by the School Board Sept. 26.

Trinity hosts ‘Latin Rhythms’ concert

After a day at the Fall Colors Fine Art & Jazz Fest, head to Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday for an evening of lively Latin music.
Three of the areas finest musical arts groups — the Valley Chamber Chorale, Music Saint Croix and the St. Croix Jazz Orchestra — perform separately and together in a free 7:30 p.m. concert Saturday at the church.
“Latin Rhythms” features music from South America as well as a repertoire by North American composers inspired by the sounds and rhythms from south of the border. Included are works by Astor Piazolla, Ariel Ramirez and George Gershwin.

YSB hosts ‘Turkeys  for Teens’ fundraiser

Strike a difference for youth and families in the community by participating in Youth Service Bureau’s Nov. 10 Turkeys for Teens event. Bowling times are scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
By collecting donations, help YSB reach thousands of youth and families whether they need chemical health services, suicide prevention support or education on topics like bullying and theft. Being a kid isn’t easy, but YSB believes that giving kids the support they need and helping them learn from their mistakes makes the future brighter for all of us.
