SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Timothy John Schneider, 71, loving father, grandfather and husband, passed away at 12:07 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; daughters, Susan Schneider of New York City, and Annemarie (Mutlu Ozdogan) Schneider of Madison, Wis.; son, Michael (Ashleigh) Schneider of Florence, Ky.; grandchildren, Ela Schneider Ozdogan and Patrick Schneider; stepsister, Carole Baker of Kasson, Minn., and sister-in-law, Karen Schneider of Princeton, Minn. He is preceded in death by a brother, Mark Schneider. He was born Oct. 17, 1941, in Stillwater, to the late Sherman and Renata (Franzmann) Schneider. He has lived in the South Bend area since August 1996 after living in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Tim was best known for his love of politics, passion for Minnesota sports, liturgical music and home improvement. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minn., and worked as a marketing manager for 40 years, most recently at CTS Corp. in Elkhart, Ind. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, Ind. Catholic mass will be celebrated at 1:30 pm Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road in Granger, where friends may visit with the family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment is at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
