Stillwater graduate and St. John’s University junior Drew Lynch was named the MIAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the second time in his collegiate career.

Lynch finished eighth out of 120 players to lead the Johnnies varsity team at the SJU Fall Invitational at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell on Sept. 14-15. He followed up a four-over 76 in the opening round with a one-over 73 on Sunday for a total of 149, which was six shots behind individual champion Josh Wytinck (69-74—143) from the University of Manitoba.

St. John’s, which is ranked fourth in the NCAA Division III national rankings, placed fifth in the 23-team field with a score of 607 (31-over par). Nebraska Wesleyan won the team title with a two-day total of 595.
