People’s church welcomes intern, hosts outdoor service featuring Frantzich
BAYPORT — Musician Timothy Frantzich performs during the People’s Congregational Church Sept. 1 outdoor service in the church’s outdoor chapel next to Barker’s Alps Park.
The service is 10:15 a.m. and open to the public.
Frantzich was originally inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s voice and began singing close-harmony with his brother, Paul. They have eight CDs recorded together under the name The Brothers Frantzich, and they’ve traveled extensively to perform. Frantzich is releasing his second solo album this summer.
The outdoor service with Frantzich is part of People’s Congregational Church’s fourth annual summer outdoor worship services, held from July 14 to Sept. 1. People attending are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and refreshments will be served. For more information, call the church office at 651-439-5667.
People’s church also welcomes Lisanne Winslow, a seminary intern from the United Theological Seminary. Winslow is currently a professor and chair of the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the Northwestern University in St Paul, a Christian liberal arts college. She will earn her Master of Arts in Theology and Religion at United Theological Seminary in May following her internship and ending with her ordination in the Congregational Church.
Some of her internship duties include preaching at designated times throughout the church year, administering a confirmation program and serving in a mid-week Advent service, as well as conducting home and hospital visitations.
Winslow comes to People’s Congregational Church with her daughters Arianna, 14, and Sophia, 12.
