City’s annual summer festival Aug 8-11 at Lions Park
Who said nothing happens in Washington County in August. Summer fun continues at the Lake Elmo Jaycees 37th Annual Huff n’ Puff Days festival Wednesday through Aug. 11 at Lions Park.
The popular event features a 96-team softball tournament, beanbag and volleyball tournaments, medallion hunt, free kids games and activities, prize drawings, food, beverages and merchandise. New this year is the resumption of the City Staff vs. Jaycees softball games Aug. 10 at Lions Park and the annual Lake Elmo Fire Department pancake breakfast fundraiser Aug. 10 and 11.
The softball tourney field is full, but a waiting list is available for teams, according to the Lake Elmo Jaycees web site.
Medallion hunt clues are published beginning Sunday on www.lakeelmojaycees.org, the Lake Elmo Jaycees Facebook page and Stillwater Patch, with new clues appearing on the three sites daily through Aug. 11 or until the medallion is found.
The Lake Elmo Jaycees remind medallion hunters that the medallion is hidden on public land in Lake Elmo and will not be hidden on a golf course, under artifical turf or at any construction site.
The person finding the medallion should contact Heather Noyes at firstname.lastname@example.org or 612-801-6145 and is required to pick up their $100 prize from Thursday through Aug. 11. Failure to claim the medallion prize by 6 p.m. Aug. 11 results in forfeiture of the prize.
If you’re hungry the mornings of Aug. 10 and 11 and want to contribute to a good cause, visit the Lake Elmo F.D. Station 1 across from Lions Park from 8 a.m. to noon for the department’s pancake breakfasts.
