Man eats and runs

A Stillwater man was issued a misdemeanor citation for shoplifting in connection with a July 17 incident at Cub Foods.

Stillwater Police officers were told that a man entered the Market Drive Cub Foods and ate packages of food, leaving empty packages in the store and left the store without paying for the items he ate.

A police report said the man told the store’s loss prevention officer that he ate more than $50 in food because he suffers from an eating disorder causing him to binge and purge food. The suspect allegedly admitted doing the same thing previously in the store, according to the report.

Besides being issued the citation, the suspect is banned from all Cub Foods stores.
