ST. PAUL — St. Croix Preparatory Academy junior Taylor Lather placed sixth in the 800-meter race at the Class A state track and field meet on Saturday at Hamline University. Lather crossed the finish line in 2:19.92.

Lather is the first SCPA athlete to ever compete at the state meet.

“I’m really proud of Taylor,” Lions coach John Vallez said. “She really is a competitor and it was fun to see her have such a successful year. She was in a field of talented runners and she stepped up to the occasion and raced really well.”
