2013-2014 preliminary budget on school board docket

The Independent School District 834 2013-2014 preliminary budget is center stage at both the school board’s learning session and business meeting tonight.
At the 5:30 p.m. board learning session, Dr. Ray Queener covers the preliminary budget while Mary Anderson and Chris Balow present an update on the data warehouse that will help teachers and students personalize their learning in the coming years under the new Bridge 834 to Excellence plan.
The board business meeting at 7 p.m. focuses on several presentations. They include Mary Anderson and Ryan Laager on the Gifted and Talented pathway; Queener’s preliminary budget overview, and his review of the education and tax bills and the legislations’ impacts on schools.
The superintendent’s contract performance pay will be discussed as well as shared time agreements. A resolution relating to conducting the operating levy renewal referendum later this year is an action item on the agenda.
The 5:30 p.m. meeting takes place at the Stillwater Public Library. The 7 p.m. meeting is at Stillwater City Hall. Both sessions are open to the public.
