053113_northsidedukesBAYPORT — David Ybarra and the Northside Dukes will headline the inaugural “Rockin’ Ribs on the River” event June 15 in Bayport with Mick Sterling and the Irresistible’s and CRANKSHAFT offering performances throughout the day.

Rockin’ Ribs on the River, is 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 15 at Bayport’s Lakeside Park.
Stage sponsors Andersen Corp. and First State Bank and Trust-Bayport helped make the new festival’s lineup of top-quality talent possible, said Todd Streeter, executive director of the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

“We have a well-rounded and outstanding lineup of talent coming to the festival,” he said. “All three of our bands are amazing and perfect for this event. We tried to cater this event to music lovers and I think with these bands we nailed it.”

The three bands have been featured at multiple Midwest festivals and together have been creating blues music for a combined 50-plus years.

David Ybarra and the Northside Dukes celebrate the band’s 12th year together at Rockin’ Ribs on the River. Since its inception, the band has dedicated itself to the “proliferation of American roots music, centering on traditional rhythm & blues and jump blues, with a little rock-n-roll added for good measure.”

Mick Sterling marks 33 years in the music business this year. During that time, Sterling has transformed himself from a young lead singer to one of the most recognized names in the Twin Cities music scene. The Irresistible’s is Sterling’s nine-piece band, and together, Mick Sterling and the Irresistible’s have gained the reputation as one of the “must-see bands in the region.”

CRANKSHAFT has been writing and performing music as a traditional one-man band for five years. Since launching his music career in 2008, CRANKSHAFT has quickly risen to the top of the Twin Cities music scene and is consistently described as “one of the best and most interesting roots, rock and blues acts playing around town these days.”
Rockin’ Ribs on the River is free, with free parking. Along with music, the event features a beer and wine garden and lots of barbeque. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the event.

Rockin’ Ribs on the River is presented by Andersen Corp., First State Bank and Trust-Bayport, Xcel Energy, The Lowdown, Stillwater Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Lift Bridge Brewery and Saint Croix Vineyards and produced by the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.
