McMahon new hotel GM
Shannon McMahon was recently hired as new general manager for Blue Sky Hospitality’s Crossings by GrandStay Inn & Suites of Stillwater, company officials recently announced.
McMahon took control over the property on May 6. McMahon, a Marquette University graduate, was selected from more than 125 applicants. McMahon has spent much of her professional career in the retail clothing and merchandise industry management level.
“Shannon brings a wealth of skills to our hotel with her passion for customer service, high energy and enthusiasm, and natural leadership ability,” said Nathan Sieve, president of Blue Sky Hospitality. “We are excited to have Shannon on our team.”
Fury Motors receives honor
Fury Motors earned the Walter P. Chrysler Club Award for overall sales and Mopar parts sales performance, the second straight year Fury has won the prestigious honor, Chrysler Group officials announced.
Chrysler Group established the award to nationally recognize leading dealerships and thank them for sales and service excellence. Fury Motors currently is celebrating 50 years as a Chrysler dealer with dealerships in Stillwater, Lake Elmo and South St. Paul.
“This special group of Chrysler Group dealers and their employees deserve our highest recognition for their consistently strong sales performance and unwavering support during 2012, a year in which Chrysler Group recorded its strongest annual sales since 2007,” said Reid Bigland, president and CEO Ram Truck Brand and head of U.S. sales.
Purkat joins JA Counter
NEW RICHMOND, Wis. — Corey A. Purkat, MS, recently joined JA Counter as a dedicated retirement specialist working with businesses to design effective, efficient retirement plans the meet employer and employee needs.
Purkat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Winona State University and a Master’s in family financial planning from Olkahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. He was previously employed by ADP Retirement Services and Securian Retirement.
Purkat and his life are moving to Oakdale. He enjoys baseball, hockey, spending time at the family cabin, camping and traveling.
Woodville Meats honored
WOODVILLE, Wis. –- Third generation butchers Kevin and Cory Olson of Woodville Meats won nine gold medals, three silver medals and the Ehrenpokal Trophy for their custom meat, sausages and ham at the 2013 IFFA Convention in Frankfort, Germany, May 4-9.
Held every three years, IFFA is the leading international trade fair for meat industry processing, packaging and sales.
The winning creations from Olson’s Woodville Meats were dried beef, beef jerky, chicken andouille sausage, lamb cervelat, bison summer sausage, chipotle garlic summer sausage, bison thuringer, bison snack sticks, beef snack sticks, ham and pineapple snack sticks, bockwurst, and smoked boneless ham.
In the pink
Stillwater-based Lift Bridge Brewery released its popular “Minnesota Tan” craft beer Tuesday, according to company officials. The pink-tinted summer brew is infused with raspberries, making Minnesota Tan the perfect refreshment at the cabin, on the lake or river or in the backyard. (Submitted photo)
