Gregory G. Heacox, 62, of Stillwater, beloved father, husband, brother, son and dear friend, passed away on May 15 surrounded by his loving family. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Gerald. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Zach, Sam and Hannah; sister, Diane (John); mother, Gloria, as well as many relatives. Greg had a passion for the law and a tireless work ethic; nothing was out of his reach. He graduated cum laude from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1977. Greg is one of the founding shareholders at Heacox, Hartman, Koshmrl, Cosgriff, & Johnson. He was named the 2012 Minneapolis Lawyer of the Year (Naifeh and Smith) in workers’ compensation defense, as well as the Best Lawyers in America (Naifeh and Smith) from 1995 to present. Greg is also listed as a “Super Lawyer” in the Minnesota Journal of Law and Politics. Greg loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time outside, watching the Twins, Wild and Vikings. However, nothing gave Greg greater pleasure than spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching his three children participate in various sporting activities. He was loved by many; he touched the lives of many; he will be missed dearly; he will never be forgotten. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, on the northwest corner of Minnesota 36 and County Road 5 in Stillwater. Service is 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road in Mahtomedi, Minn., 55115, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Luncheon will follow. Memorials preferred to the Gregory Heacox scholarship fund or the American Lung Association.
