VADNAIS HEIGHTS — Merrick, Inc., a non-profit with the mission to empower adults with disabilities through vocational and social opportunities, along with sponsors Lake Area Bank and SevenHills Benefit Partners, invite golfers to participate in Merrick’s 18th Annual Charity Golf Schamble on May 20 at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis.
The event begins with a 12:30 shotgun start and concludes with a barbeque dinner. There also are a silent auction, games throughout the course and a few surprises to raise funds for Merrick’s mission of empowering adults with disabilities. One of the favorite parts of the day for participants is going one-on-one against Merrick’s Zubaz-clad Executive Director John Wayne Barker on the “Beat The Boss” hole.
“With such a long winter, what better way to welcome spring and get ready for the golf season than by joining us on May 20th,” Barker said, “The fresh air, a great course, and getting to socialize with Merrick friends, staff and clients all while raising funds to support our mission makes for a truly wonderful event.”
Community members are encouraged to register and join the fun. To sign-up, contact Merrick’s Volunteer and Events Coordinator Jo Ann Lizakowski by email at JoAnnL@MerrickInc.org or at 651-789-6207. You can also find out more about the event on Merrick’s website at www.merrickinc.org.

Another way to support Merrick is through hiring a client and/or work crew. If you are a local company looking for help with document destruction, digital imaging, plastics recycling or other office and support work, contact Merrick at
