Dana Almquist — Girls lacrosse
A key contributor for Stillwater girls’ lacrosse teams that have advanced to state the past two years, Dana Almquist is off to a fast start while helping the Ponies prevail in each of their first four games this spring.
The high-scoring senior did a little of everything in Monday’s 18-5 victory over Roseville, racking up six goals and five assists while also leading the Ponies in groundball pickups draw controls. Almquist also scored 9 and 11 goals in Suburban East Conference victories over Park and Mounds View to start the season. Following Wednesday’s win over Cretin-Derham Hall, she now has 32 goals and 8 assists in four games.
Stillwater (4-0 SEC, 4-0) travels to defending state runner-up Blake on Friday.
Sam Sagissor — Boys lacrosse
