Girls track and field: Ponies finish 2nd at Hopkins

MINNETONKA — Competing outdoors for the first time this season, the Stillwater girls’ track and field team finished second in Friday’s True Team meet at Hopkins High School.

The Ponies, who won the 4×400 and 4×800 relays, finished with 879.5 points to finish behind only Lakeville North (953). Hopkins followed in third place with 854.5 points.

Fiona Montie, Shelby Litchy, Maria Morley and Natalie Phippen won the 4×400 relay in 4:06.66 while Montie, Abby Lange, Larissa Colvin and Morley combined to win the 4×800 relay in 9:35.85.

Phippen added a runner-up finish in the 400 meters (1:01.60) while Litchy placed second in the 300 hurdles (47.57). Stillwater also received third-place finishes from Lauren Lampright (5:34.82) in the 1,600 meters, Brooke Hunter (33-10) in the triple jump and Dayshia Coleman (35-4 1/4) in the shot put.
