Work on the St. Croix River Crossing bridge project started Monday when crews began building a construction staging area on the Minnesota bank of the river, state Department of Transportation officials said.
Current work at the site includes constructing dock walls to support equipment access for bridge foundation construction and installing steel sheet panels for barge docking facilities. Work set for early May includes clearing property adjacent to Minnesota 95 in Oak Park Heights.
MnDOT also announced that the St. Croix Crossing project offices at 1862 S. Greeley St. in Stillwater will be open until 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays to answer public questions about the project.
