4th Annual Paul Koval Walleye Classic set for May 18

The 4th Annual Paul Koval Memorial Walleye Classic is scheduled for Saturday, May 18 on the St. Croix River from the Stillwater bridge south to Prescott bridge north. The tournament hours are 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Entry fee for the tournament, which is sponsored by MinnKota and Miller Beer, is $120 per team and features a $1,000 first place prize for the winner — with payouts to each of the top 10 finishers — based on a full field of 50 teams. There is also a $500 award for largest fish.

There is a 10-fish limit of walleyes and sauger per team and standings are determined by total weight. Fish must be at least 15 inches in length. All boats must be launched at Beanies (launch free included with entry) and participants must return to Beanies in time for the weigh-in at 2:30 p.m.

The tournament meeting is scheduled for the Beach Bar on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m., and at least one member of the team must be present. Failure to attend the meeting results in a disqualification and forfeiture of the entry fee.

Lunch and drinks at the Beach Bar are provided following the tournament and included with the entry fee, which must be paid to the Beach Bar by May 17.

Raffle prizes and cash awards will be distributed starting at 4:30 p.m. For questions or additional information, contact Kenny Lundgren at 612-963-6013 or 651-436-5065 (Beach Bar).
