OAKDALE — Minnesota Timberwolves President Chris Wright will discuss how his Christian faith influences his life as a husband, father and NBA executive at the Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast May 7 at the Prom Center in Oakdale.
“I feel very honored to share with the east metro community about the role my faith has played in my life, both in my business endeavors as well as with my family,” Wright said.
Wright is originally from Great Britain and came to the United States in 1978. He has been a business consultant for the state of Minnesota and general manager of two Major Indoor Soccer League teams, the Pittsburgh Spirit from 1981 to 1986 and Minnesota Strikers from 1986 to 1987.
Wright has been with the Timberwolves since 1990 and is responsible for the team’s day-to-day operations, strategic business direction and fostering a culture of success. Wright has been instrumental in aligning the Wolves staff and team on the goals of having the best staff, embracing a fans-first attitude, embodying the team brand, being active in the community and good stewards of the team’s budget.
The Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast is 7 to 8:55 a.m. Cost is $20 each or $180 for a table of nine. Doors open at 6:15 a.m. May 7 and registration is 6:30 to 6:55 a.m. Non-perishable food donations will be collected to the Woodbury Christian Cupboard Food Shelf.
The Prom Center is located at 484 Inwood Ave. North in Oakdale at the Interstate 94-Inwood Avenue ramp. Guests are asked to consider carpooling to the event due to limited available parking.
