Robert V. Novak

ST. CLOUD — Memorial services celebrating the life of Robert V. Novak, 83, of St. Cloud and formerly of Coon Rapids are noon Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud. Bob died April 3, 2013. The Rev. Steven Binsfeld will officiate. Inurnment is at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation is 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the funeral home. Bob was born Aug. 7, 1929 to Casimir and Louise (Huhn) Novak. He graduated from Arlington High School in South Dakota and completed two years of college before joining the U.S. Navy. He met his wife of 61 years, Bernadette, when he was 15 and declared that he would marry her and he did. Bob and Bernadette raised six children and six in-laws: Theodore and Nancy (Varner) Novak, Jeff and Georgia (Reiter) Novak, Mike and Trish (Landwehr) Novak, Denise (Novak) and Jeff Cropp, Steve and Natalie (Gessell) Novak and Anita (Novak) and Jeff Kahl. Bob and Bernadette are blessed with 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren that they love very much. After receiving an honorable discharge form the Navy, Bob worked with his father, Casimir, in Arlington running a produce and distribution companyh. Eventually, Bob settled in Coon Rapids and worked his way up the ranks of Dowling Box/Longview Fiber becoming the plant manager. Bob spent 28 years with the company in order to provide for his family. Bob loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, going for long drives, just enjoying his grandhchildren and whistling. Bob will be missed and it is only now that we realize how much he loved each and every one of us.
