A memorial service for Howard Earl Palmer, 93, of Hudson, and formerly of Stillwater, is 11 a.m. Saturday at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard on the northwest corner of Minnesota 36 and County Road 5 in Stillwater. Interment is at Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Howard died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Pine Ridge Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis. He was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Oak Park Heights, the son of Earl and Marie Palmer. Howard graduated from Stillwater High School in 1937. He was a World War II veteran and served at Fort Snelling. Howard was a lifetime member of the Bayport American Legion and an original member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. Howard worked at Andersen Windows for 37 years. After retirement he became a Real Estate broker before moving to Florida for 20 years. Howard married Myra Gertrude Kollander in 1942 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Myra in 2008; brother, George, and sisters, Lois and Rose. He is survived by sons, Jeff (Jeanne), Jim (Pat) and Joel (Joni); grandchildren, Kristy, Nick, Alex and Andrea, as well as many nieces and nephews.
