Popular ‘Spring into Service’ day May 4

Community Thread marks the fifth Anniversary of one of its most popular volunteer days, and the agency invites the St. Croix Valley to help it celebrate.

From 9 a.m. to noon May 4, Community Thread hosts its annual “Spring Into Service” event in Washington County and the St. Croix Valley. To mark the event’s fifth year, Community Thread’s goal is to engage more than 350 volunteers on this single day.

Volunteers are invited to participate in service projects for a variety of non-profit organizations. By coming together, volunteers can help make lasting changes to benefit many friends and neighbors.

Volunteer projects will include painting, landscaping, gardening, organizing donations, working with kids and more. There also are office projects available for those unable to do physical labor. A volunteer appreciation party is held at Community Thread after the morning projects are completed.

This event is free and open to the public. Register today by emailing [email protected] or calling 651-439-7434. Sign up as an individual, family or group. You’ll receive a confirmation email after you register, and will receive your site assignments via email during the week prior to the event.

Community Thread has served the St. Croix Valley since 1967. The non-profit organization connects people and enriches lives through a variety of community programs, including Senior Centers in Stillwater and Bayport, Volunteer Center, Transportation Program, Medical Reserve Corps and Holiday Bureau.
