Keep doing what you’ve learned

“Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9.

The day of Easter was this past weekend but the season of Easter is upon us now, and for the next 50 days, we will celebrate the rising of Our Lord from death.

During this time, we will hear about His appearances to His apostles and disciples, offering them peace and encouragement to remain strong, to stand firmly for what they believe and to rely on His power. At the conclusion of this time is Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit in flame and fire upon them to confirm their faith and authorize them to go out, speak in Christ’s name and share His power.

During these 50 days, what will you do to celebrate Jesus’ rising from the dead in your own life? Will you enter into His comforting presence each day, confident in His ability to shape and mold your thoughts and commitments to help you be a better version of yourself? Will you reach out in love and compassion to those in your own home who are in need of Christ’s loving touch? Will you bring your renewed dedication and devotion to the Christian mission out into the world?

As the passage reminds us, we are to keep doing what we have learned, received, heard and seen in Christ, and at all times, remember that God’s peace is with us. Happy Easter!
