Canine Assistants service dog donation

Cub foods and the Milk Bone brand are making a joint $20,000 donation to the Canine Assistants Organization towards the purchase of a service dog for an individual with a disability. The donation will be accepted on behalf of the non-profit by Courtney Gibson and her service dog Westin who she received in 2010.

Service dogs are highly trained to help those with disabilities do things such as picking up dropped items, getting help in the case of emergency and providing constant companionship.

Canine Assistants provides service dogs to people with various disabilities at no cost to the recipient. It takes up to two years to train the dogs. And the organization runs entirely on individual and corporate donations.
