Two Washington County residents were appointed to a pair of county committees Tuesday by the Board of Commissioners.
Caleb Bunz of Woodbury will serve on Commission District 5 representative on the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee for a term expiring Dec. 31. District 5 Commissioner Lisa Weik recommended Bunz’s appointment.
The committee advises, consults and makes recommendations to the County Board in its capacity as the Community Health Board on matters related to local public health duties through an emergency preparedness grant agreement between the county and state Department of Health.
Lesley Williams of St. Paul Park was named to the county’s Workforce Investment Board for a first term expiring June 30, 2015.
This board is set up by state law and determines the most effective designation of administrative entities, grant recipients and program operators for the Workforce service area; plans for collaboration, provides on-site review and oversight of program performance, and selects local priorities for service and target populations for programs.
