OAKDALE — A mortgage foreclosure prevention workshop will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Oakdale Library.
The Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and the Minnesota Home Ownership Association, in partnership with the library, will present information on how to handle foreclosure situations. The workshop is for anyone who wants to ask questions and get advice from trained foreclosure prevention counselors.
Anyone who is behind on a mortgage, worried about keeping up with mortgage payments and wants to know more about the foreclosure process can attend. Those worried about foreclosure should seek help immediately. Waiting might limit the options.
The workshops are open houses and no pre-registration is required. Participants can also meet one-on-one with a foreclosure prevention counselor. It will help the counselor to respond to any concerns if participants bring any communication received from a lender or loan servics; proof of income (e.g., recent pay stub), and a copy of a mortgage statement.
For more information or to speak with a foreclosure prevention counselor immediately, call the Washington County HRA’s foreclosure intake line at 651-458-0936 ext. 542 or see www.wchra.com.
