Section preliminaries were conducted on Thursday and the Ponies, who qualified at least two entries for the championship finals in each individual event. Section diving is scheduled for tonight starting at 6:10, and the swimming finals are slated for Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Ponies did not win a single event individual event while claiming the section championship a year ago and depth will also be the key if they are able to hold off the Suburban East Conference champion Raptors again this year.

Stillwater qualified four athletes for the championship finals in the 50 freestyle (Marcus Green, Tom Windett, Alex Burback and Lucas Magilke) and 100 backstroke (Brady Anderson, Green, Jon Busse and Sam Larson) while advancing two in each of the remaining six individual swimming events.

The Ponies posted the second-fastest qualifying time in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.18) and ranked third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:27.64).
