Girls basketball: Park topples Ponies

COTTAGE GROVE — Park turned up the pressure to hand Stillwater its sixth consecutive loss in Tuesday’s Suburban East Conference girls’ basketball game.

Guards Larissa Lurken and Sydney Lamberty tossed in 18 and 16 points to lead the charge for the Wolfpack (9-3 SEC, 14-5), who opened up a 41-13 halftime lead.

“They have girls that play a lot of basketball and they’re clearly better than us,” Ponies coach Gerard Coury said. “Four years ago they won four games and now they’re going to win 20.”

Sam Houle delivered a season-high 13 points to lead the Ponies (1-11 SEC, 4-15).
