OPH McDonald’s re-opens
The rebuilt McDonald’s in Oak Park Heights is officially set to re-open on Jan. 31 at 5 a.m. it will be a 24-hour restaurant and is similar to the new Mcdonald’s in Stillwater.
FamilyMeans’ Day Out! program is currently welcoming new participants to take part in the weekly group respite program.
Held every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FamilyMeans in Stillwater, Day Out! supports families caring for adults with chronic health issues by providing a safe, supervised environment where care-receivers come together to enjoy conversation, crafts, games, songs, exercises and fun while their caregivers take an often much-needed break.
Volunteers are paired with care receivers ensuring individualized attention and the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy activities together on a regular basis.
Baseball, guitars, healthy snacks, Costa Rica and Earth Day are just some of the many themes that will soon be explored in Day Out!
The cost to participate in Day Out! is $40 per person per visit. Scholarships are available.
The Stillwater Public Library is hosting Take Your Child to The Library Day on Sat. Feb. 2. All day, children registering for a new library card will recieve a small welcme prize. Family story time takes place at 10:30 a.m. and stick around to make a bookmark. A puppet show iwll be performed at 11:30 a.m.
St. Paul–Children of all ages and their parents are invited to Marble Mania at Mounds Park Academy (2051 Larpenteur Ave. East, St. Paul) on Saturday, Feb. 2 from noon until 2:00 p.m. The challenge will be to design, build and showcase a pathway on which a marble can travel, including at least two obstacles to reduce its speed. Marbles will be provided by MPA and will be yours to keep. Bring your own construction materials or use the ones available including paper tubes, rope, string, tape, wood, etc.
