Parent education sessions offered this winter

“Raising Resilient Kids,” a free, one-session parent education workshop for parents and caregivers of children of all ages, is offered at five Washington County locations in this winter.
Family therapist Bob Downs discusses the skills children need, the components of resilient families and how parents can rear children to face challenges, bounce back from adversity, and learn life-long lessons. Downs has worked with families, adolescents and young adults for 30 years. Sessions are free but registration is required and can be done at
The workshops are: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 24 Stillwater Area High School; 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 11 at NSP/Maplewood/Oakdale District Education Center; 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 19 at Forest Lake Central Learning Center; 6:30-8 p.m. March 5 at  Mahtomedi District Education Center, and 6:30-8 p.m. March 28 at East Ridge High School in Woodbury.
CONNECT Chemical Health Action Collaborative in Washington County, and the Community Education departments of Forest Lake, Mahtomedi, Stillwater and South Washington County Schools, and Promoting Positive Parenting are co-sponsors of “Raising Resilient Kids.”
