Cabela’s plans Woodbury store

Cabela’s will open a new store in Woodbury in the fall of 2014, company officials announced Tuesday.
The Sidney, Neb.-based hunting, fishing and outdoor gear retailer plans an 85,000-square-foot store in the Tamarack Village Shopping Center on Radio Drive and Hudson Road. Construction is expected to start this fall. Company officials said the new outlet would employ about 185 full- and part-time employees.
Cabela’s planned Woodbury store is the fourth Cabela’s store in Minnesota. Other stores are in East Grand Forks, Owatonna and Rogers.
“Minnesota offers a tremendous array of outdoor pursuits and that has been highlighted by the commitment and loyalty of Cabela’s customers across the state,” said Cabela’s CEO Tommy Millner. “Cabela’s has had remarkable success in the East Grand Forks, Owatonna and Rogers locations and we expect similar results in Woodbury.”
The announcement of Cabela’s Woodbury store continues the company’s expansion in the United States and Canada. Along with announcing plans for the Woodbury outlet, Cabela’s officials said the company will build a store in Greenville, S.C., that opens in 2014. Cabela’s has previously announced plans for new stores in Saginaw and Grandville, Mich., Columbus, Ohio, Louisville, Ky., Green Bay, Wis., Thornton and Lone Tree, Colo., Kalispell, Mont., Anchorage, Alaska, Bristol, Va., Christiana, Del., and Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The company also plans relocating its Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, store.
Cabela’s operates 40 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
