Stillwater liquor raises $4,000 for Vikings Children’s Fund
Stillwater Liquor joins many other Midwest liquor stores
to participate in the annual “Miller Lite Show Your Horns” sales promotion and fundraising effort during September and October. This year, Stillwater Liquor officials announced that the store took second place in the statewide fundraising effort.
Kicking off the 2012 NFL season Stillwater Liquor staff solicited Vikings’ Children’s Fund donations from their customers. The fund supports children’s health, education and family services throughout the Midwest. Donors wrote their name on a piece of paper that adorned Stillwater Liquor’s interior.
As the store walls were covered in patron’s donations, Stillwater Liquor Manager Chris Newkirk knew the fundraising efforts were going better than expected. Stillwater Liquor raised $4,134 for the fund.
Newkirk credits “the generous support from customers to help kids and their families.”
The Vikings Children’s Fund has raised nearly $10 million since its inception in 1978. More than $5 million was allocated towards research at the University of Minnesota’s Department of Pediatrics.
The Fund’s success is attributed to strong dedication of the Vikings ownership group, Vikings fans, players, coaches, alumni, volunteers, staff and corporate partners supporting programs like the “Miller Lite Show Your Horns” promotion.
