Girls basketball: Woodbury sinks Ponies

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — Woodbury jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead and cruised to a 56-43 Suburban East Conference girls’ basketball victory over the Ponies on Friday at Stillwater Area High School.
Kristina White, a Vermont University recruit, set the scoring pace for the Royals (4-1 SEC, 7-3) while tossing in 18 points and Courtney Schiffler chipped in with 13.
Paige Becker delivered 17 points for the Ponies, who outscored Woodbury 28-22 in the second half. Annie Lauber and Natalie Johnson added eight points apiece.
