Event now YA fundraiser at Grand Ballroom
The party continues Monday, but with a different host and at a new location.
The Stillwater-based non-profit Youth Advantage takes over as host of “Dance & Dazzle a New Year’s Eve benefit for Youth Advantage.” The night featurea dinner, dancing, casino games, live and silent auction items and midnight champagne toast at the Grand Ballroom in downtown Stillwater.
“It has been a fun ride for us over all these years, but now it’s time for a change,” said Wilson and Olsen in a letter to past event guests. “We have made arrangements with the Youth Advantage organization, led by Suzanne Block, to continue the annual tradition of the New Year’s Eve dinner and dance.”
Profits raised at Dance & Dazzle will benefit Youth Advantage’s mission of providing access to arts, athletics, and educational-enrichment experiences for children of financially challenged parents or guardians who reside in Independent School District No. 834 boundaries.
“During this transition period, Tom and Dick have agreed to remain involved to help ensure as smooth of a turnover as possible,” according to a Youth Advantage statement.
The event begins with a 6:30 p.m. social hour and silent auction bidding, followed by dinner, dancing and live auction at 8 p.m.; dancing and casino games at 9 and the midnight champagne toast.
“Let’s all give it a try and see how it works out,” said Wilson and Olsen about the change. “Change can be good if we have the right attitude. And we certainly do thank you for your loyal support since 1998.”
