‘Women Poets’ portrait display

WOODBURY — Washington County Library invites area residents to view the “Women Poets: Portraits by Jay Wittenberg” display that will be rotated throughout the county during winter and spring of 2013.

Wittenberg, a graduate of the College of Visual Arts, has been a professional artist for more than 20 years. His collection of portraits celebrate the genius of famous women poets.

Dates and library locations for the displays are:

n Jan. 2-30, R. H. Stafford Branch in Woodbury;

n Feb. 5-27, Hardwood Creek Branch in Forest Lake;

n March 5-29, Oakdale Branch in Oakdale;

n April 2-29, Wildwood Branch in Mahtomedi, and

n May 2-31, Park Grove Branch in Cottage Grove.

Wittenberg’s work has been exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. His works are also represented in a Los Angeles art gallery. He teaches drawing for the cities of St. Paul and Woodbury.

The “Women Poets” display is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
