WOODBURY — Washington County Library branches will reopen Mondays starting Jan. 7, library officials announced Wednesday.
In addition to restoring Monday hours, the R.H. Stafford branch in Woodbury will re-open on Sundays during the school year, officials said.
The move back to Monday hours results after the County Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved the 2013 budget that contains funds to staff WCL branches on Mondays.
The restored hours begin one year after WCL branches were closed Sundays and Mondays when the Lake Elmo City Council voted to leave the WCL system and take its levy of about $250,000 to fund a city-run library.
New WCL branch hours are:
Stafford in Woodbury: 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays from September through May. Stafford will be closed Sundays in June through August.
Park Grove in Cottage Grove and Hardwood Creek in Forest Lake: 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Wildwood in Mahtomedi and Oakdale: 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays; 12:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 12:30 to 5 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
Valley in Lakeland: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays; 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The WCL library express kiosks in Hugo, Marine on St. Croix and Newport are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for pickups and returns.
