SCPA girls, boys prevail

 

BAYTOWN TOWNSHIP — The St. Croix Preparatory Academy girls’ basketball team used a strong second half to overtake Legacy Christian Academy 41-38 in Tuesday’s nonconference game.

The Lions (1-4) trailed 32-22 at halftime, but limited LCA to just six points in the second half to collect their first win of the season. SPCA didn’t take its first lead until the final minute of the game.

Grace Kaetterhenry led SPCA with 15 points and Lita Schollmeier added 13, nine of which came on three 3-pointers.

At Minneapolis, Cameron Mehls totaled 19 points to help lead St. Croix Preparatory Academy to a 57-56 nonconference boys’ basketball victory over Minneapolis North on Tuesday.

Nick Richardson added 13 points for the Lions (2-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
