People’s offers Taize worship services, prayer in December

BAYPORT — People’s Congregational Church invites people to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and come to a mid-week worship at 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 19.

People’s pastor, the Rev. Lanny Kuester, invites the community to take an opportunity to slow down, reflect, listen and pray at the 45-minute Wednesday night services during the Christian season of Advent.  The worship experiences follow the Taize tradition of a meditative, reflective worship style that uses song, Scripture, prayer and silence as ways to lead us to new understandings.

While people might be hesitant to add another commitment to their already busy holiday schedules, this time of peaceful worship might be exactly what they need to make the Advent more meaningful and spiritual.

People’s Congregational Church is located at 309 Third St. North in Bayport.
