Oak Park Heights seeks Planning Commission applicants

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — The city of Oak Park Heights is accepting applications for two openings on the city’s five-member Planning Commission, city officials announced.

The commission openings are the result of one expiring commission term and the recent election to the City Council of a current commission member. One opening will be filled for the commission’s February meeting. The second opening will be filled in June. Both openings are subject to City Council approval and have terms ending May 31, 2016.

The Oak Park Heights Planning Commission serves as the city’s planning agency and conducts public hearings on zoning matters, subdivision and building regulations, land use development and comprehensive planning. Other matters are occasionally referred to the Planning Commission by the City Council from time to time. The commission usually meets at 7 p.m. on the second or third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. and holds periodic workshops or other special meetings.

Oak Park Heights’ residents looking for an interesting and rewarding opportunity to participate in the development of the city should contact Julie Hultman at 651-439-4439 or email [email protected] more information and an application.

Applications may also be printed from the City’s web page at www.cityofoakparkheights.com.  City Hall is located at 14168 Oak Park Boulevard North.

Applications are accepted until 4:30 p.m. Jan. 4. Candidate interviews will be held prior to the Jan. 10 regular Planning Commission meeting. Applicants will be contacted for an interview.
