The Washington County Board of Commissioners previewed a redesigned and upgraded county website at a workshop Tuesday.
The upgraded website continues to use the web address www.co.washington.mn.us and is designed to provide more information to county residents in a more accessible manner. The redesigned website went online Wednesday.
County officials hope residents will be able to conduct more county business online, saving telephone calls and visits to county offices. The county announced last week that the Property Records and Taxpayer Services Department is recording some documents online now.

Washington County residents can offer their opinion on fees charged for county services during a Dec. 18 public hearing set by the Board of Commissioners Tuesday.
The hearing was scheduled as commissioners consider revising the county services fee schedule for 2013. The fee schedule is updated yearly and the County Board approves any changes.
The hearing will be held during the board’s regular 9 a.m. meeting in the fifth-floor boardroom at the County Government Center in Stillwater.
WCSO, 3 cities reach law enforcement accords
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will provide law enforcement services to the cities of Mahtomedi, Dellwood and Willernie under agreements approved by the Board of Commissioners Tuesday.
Five WCSO deputies will provide law enforcement services 24 hours a day, seven days a week under a three-year contract starting Jan. 1, 2013, through Dec. 31, 2015, and automatically renew for one-year periods after initial expiration or renewal terms.
The three cities pay actual direct costs and expenses for the county’s services, which are an estimated $535,200 for 2013.
