Minnesota Scandinavian Show Band members Mel Brenden, left, LeRoy Larson and Art Bjorngjeld perform at Thursday’s St. Croix Syttende Mai Society meeting at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stillwater.

The fall semi-annual meeting of the St. Croix Vally Syttende Mai Society will be held at 7 p.m. on Thurs. Nov. 15 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

The St. Croix Valley Syttende Mai Society was founded in 1976 and celebrates Norway’s Constitution Day in May and also meets in November for a semi-annual gathering.

The headline entertainment for the Fall St. Croix Valley Syttende Mai Society’s Meeting will be Leroy Larson and the Minnesota Scandinavian Show Band. The group’s past appearances include the Norsk Hostfest, performances at the Library of Congress, and appearing at the Kennedy Center for the Arts and on Norwegian radio.

Christmas pastries and goodies will be available after the show and those who attend are welcome to bring a sampling of their favorite Scandinavian treats. The program is free though free will offerings will be accepted to help with some expenses.
