Help group help area youths

On Thursday, St. Croix Valley residents have the opportunity to participate in something truly unique in Minnesota and benefit kids in our community.

Local non-profit Youth Advantage is participating in Give to the Max Day (GTMD) with a goal of raising $5,000 to support our work helping disadvantaged kids in the St. Croix Valley participate in extracurricular activities. In 2012, Youth Advantage provided scholarships and equipment to 275 kids, helping them engage in athletics, music, visual arts and academic extracurricular programs. With your donations, we can reach even more youth in our community in the coming year.

There are two ways to get involved. First, donate Thursday at the Give to the Max Day website, www.givemn.org. Search for Youth Advantage and donate. Youth Advantage is signed up for the Small Non-profit leader board, enabling us to possibly win an extra $1,000 to $12,500. Look for our live interview at givemn.org at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday

Second, spread the word. Watch the Youth Advantage video at this link and share it: http://givemn.razoo.com/story/Youth-Video-Contest-Youth-Advantage. The video has been entered in a Give to the Max Day contest sponsored by GiveMN and Youthprise.
