Gonyea managing partner Tony Sonnen says that Gonyea has already sold twice as many homes this year than in 2011 and he expects that 2013 will also be a great year for new home sales.
“This is a business where it’s easy to cut corners,” Sonnen said. “This award means a lot because it recognizes we produce a high-value product that will stand the test of time.”
The annual award honors BATC members that exhibit outstanding business practices and high levels of integrity. Members evaluate builders in an annual blind survey based on a variety of criteria, including trust, communication, loyalty and ethics. The company with the highest scores is named Builder of the Year.
Gonyea was presented with the award on Oct. 13 at BATC’s annual Awards of Excellence Gala.
Since 2009, Gonyea’s sales of new homes have grown by more than 400 percent, despite the difficult housing market. The company recently added remodeling and land development divisions.
“We consistently see Gonyea make choices that will benefit their buyers down the road,” says Pat Hegseth, sales manager of Great Plains Millwork, which makes windows, doors and trim. “Gonyea thinks long-term and their choices result in higher levels of long-term buyer satisfaction.”
