Annual Bayport hydrant flush starts Monday

The Bayport Public Works Department has started the city’s annual fire hydrant flushing this week and the work should be completed in 7 to 10 days, weather permitting.

Residents might experience some water discoloration as a result of the hydrant flushing. If residents notice discolored water, let the water run until it clears. If your problem persists, call City Hall at 651-275-4404.

 Used book sale at library

The public is invited to a used book sale Nov. 8-10 at the Stillwater Public Library.

Sale hours are 10:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10:15 a.m.  to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 10.

Memberships will be for sale during the book sale. There will be a $30 non-refundable charge for personal scanner use.

Residents can donate your books to the sale from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 3 in the library parking ramp at 224 North Third St. Call 651-439-2630 for more information. Sale proceeds support the Stillwater Public Library collections and programs.

Trick or Treating at Golden Living

Golden Living—Linden invites community children to trick-or-treat at the facility from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Residents will hand out Halloween candy and the facility will also have hot dogs, chips, beverages and games for the children to play and win prizes.

WCHS holds rummage sale

The Washington County Historical Society holds a fundraising rummage sale Nov. 17-18 at the Stillwater Station located on the corner of Croixwood Drive and High way 5.

Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Donations can be dropped off at the Warden’s House Museum in Stillwater, Hay Lake School Museum in Scandia and at Stillwater Station from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16. Call the WCHS at 651-439-5956 to arrange pick-up of large donations.

Sale proceeds go toward the WCHS’ proposed new Heritage Center.
