SAHS — Stillwater graduate and former standout distance runner Dave Ratte, who is Captain of the Submarine USS Mpls.-St. Paul, enjoys a busy weekend back in his home

state while visiting from Virginia Beach, Va. After watching the Stillwater football game on Friday evening, Ratte attends the Milaca Invitational cross country meet on Saturday and is an honorary captain at the Vikings-Panthers football game on Sunday. Then on Tuesday, Ratte throws out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Twins-Indians game at the Metrodome.


Boys soccer — Stillwater takes a remarkable 16 corner kicks in a 3-0 Suburban East Conference boys’ soccer victory over Mounds View. Mike Blythe, Steve Polinske and Dan Horst score goals for the Ponies, who hold a 21-7 advantage in shots on goal. Matt Carlson collects his seventh shutout as Stillwater improves to 13-0-0 (9-0-0 SEC) on the season.


Girls soccer — Head coach Andy Olson records the 200th victory of his career as the Stillwater girls’ soccer team defeats Mounds View 3-1 behind goals from Ashley Kirkman, Haley Lentsch and Katelyn Ley.
