CliftonLarsonAllen will perform independent annual auditing for Washington County after the Board of Commissioners approved a three-year contract with the company Tuesday.
The State Auditor’s Office gave the county permission in 2003 to have annual audits done by a certified public accounting company. CliftonLarsonAllen was selected through a competitive request-for-proposal process and signed a three-year agreement in November 2009.
The county this year will replace its current accounting system with a new “chart of accounts.” This transition is more efficient if the county continues using an audit company familiar with the past chart of accounts, according to county officials.
CliftonLarsonAllen’s contract is for three years because the State Auditor’s authorization ends Dec. 31, 2014.
