Susan Evans — Volleyball

The Stillwater volleyball team has made a smooth transition under first-year coach Jamie Suapaia and helping to lead the way is reliable setter Susan Evans.

Susan Evans

The junior collected 26 set assists during Stillwater’s 3-0 Suburban East Conference victory over Park on Tuesday night, one night after delivering 34 during a nonconference sweep over Tartan. Evans also served 19 for 19 with four aces and added 19 set assists as the Ponies defeated Forest Lake 3-0 in their conference opener on Sept. 13. With help from a balanced cast of hitters, Evans has helped the Ponies win each of their past nine games.

Stillwater (2-0 SEC, 7-3) travels to Hastings for a conference match tonight.

Wayde Hall — Boys cross country

Since losing the first race of the season by a tenth of a second, Stillwater senior Wayde Hall has won consecutive races while leading the defending state champion Stillwater boys’ cross country team.
