Fall yard-raking help for seniors, disabled now available

Community Thread is organizing its 14th Annual Rake a Difference Day to help area seniors this fall and accepted applications from senior citizens and persons with disabilities who want volunteer help getting their yard raked this fall.

Rake A Difference Day, an initiative that matches seniors and persons with disabilities in Washington County with volunteers who can assist with yard raking.

Last year, Community Thread organized over 700 volunteers to rake yards for nearly 85 seniors and people with disabilities in the county. Volunteer groups included families, scout troops, Rotary Clubs, school groups, companies and neighborhood associations.

To receive an application, please call Community Thread at 651-439-7434 or visit www.communitythreadmn.org. Volunteer groups will rake yards on or around the national date of “Make A Difference Day,” which falls on Oct. 27.

If you have questions about having your lawn raked, or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lauren Hazenson at 651-439-7434 or [email protected]
