Duck derby highlights Bayport Derby Days Saturday

BAYPORT — Animals both plastic and real and the chance to win $500 highlight Bayport’s annual Derby Days festival Saturday.

The daylong celebration starts with an 8 a.m. pancake breakfast and ends with fireworks at 8:30 p.m. at Lakeside Park. In between, there is the medallion hunt for a $500 prize, the popular duck derby at noon in the Perro Park creek; the pet parade at Perro Park; the “Taste of Bayport” and an ice cream social, both at Lakeside Park, and other activities for children and adults throughout the day.

The first two medallion hunt clues appear in today’s and Friday’s editions of the Gazette and will be posted hourly Saturday at the Hesley Jensen American Legion Post No. 491 in Bayport. Happy hunting all you medallion seekers.
