The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce is hitting the airwaves on KLBB-AM 1220.

The chamber’s new show, ChamberChat, takes over the time slot originally reserved for District 39 State Senate Republican candidate Karin Housley. It passed to the chamber after Housley voluntarily pulled her radio show off the station when Democratic candidate Julie Bunn requested equal time on the station per The Communications Act.

ChamberChat airs from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and focuses on local businesses and organizations making a difference in the Stillwater and St. Croix Valley area.

“This opportunity came up quickly so we are still trying to determine the show’s format, but I’m sure it will be loosely structured so we can have some fun while we share important information with our area listeners,” said Todd Streeter, executive director and host of ChamberChat. “Who knows it could be reminiscent of the Dean Martin Show where he’d open the door and you never knew who was going to step out.”

Regardless of the structure, Streeter says the chamber is looking forward to this new opportunity.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity to showcase many of the hard working men and women who make our area such a wonderful place to live, work and play,” Streeter said.

The first show airs this Saturday.
