OAK PARK HEIGHTS — With a showdown looming on Thursday against fellow Suburban East Conference unbeaten Hastings, the Stillwater girls’ tennis team adjusted the lineup somewhat on Tuesday while posting a 7-0 victory over Park at Stillwater Area High School.

The Ponies (4-0 SEC, 7-1) did not drop a set and lost more than three games in just one of the seven matches while running their win streak to seven in a row.

“It was nice to keep things rolling,” Ponies coach Dave Kahl said. “We put together a different lineup and the girls responded really well.”

Natalie Phippen continued her strong play with a victory at first singles while Shelby Anderson, Hannah Quinn and Robbie Ellingson completed the singles sweep. Savannah Johnson and Aliza Deming, who are usually found in the singles lineup, posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first doubles while Shelby Ahrendt and Amanda Williams lost just one game in a victory at the second spot. Emma Germundson and Jackie Ellingson also had little trouble in a 6-2, 6-0 win at third doubles.

n Stillwater also won three exhibitions matches on Tuesday, including an 8-0 singles win for Elizabeth Quinn and doubles victories by Maggie Corman-Remi Larson (8-1) and Clara Ilkka-Emily Frenchik (8-0).
